You Are standing In the Middle

You are standing in the middle of the cosmic layer of God's creation. At the higher realms are the great saints, Siddhas, angles and incarnations of divine powers. Beneath your level of existence are the animals, birds, insects and lower organisms. Those above are enjoying in the divine paradise and those below are suffering in various forms. You, the human being are the only one allowed to share both the joy and the pains. You are also the only one privileged with the freedom of action to transform your fate accordingly. It's up to you whether you want to move your fife-course downwards or upwards and destine its devolution to the lower, beastly forms or evolution to beatified, illumined states ……...
If you chose to decline then don't care for anything. Just eat rest and live for sensual joys. Earn these joys by whatever means -ethical or unethical. It's really easy to fall down. You can spend all your stock of good omen for petty pleasures or drain it out by adopting heinous actions. But then there will be nothing but repenting and darkness…..
If you want to rise high on the celestial scale of evolution of your life, you will have to distinguish between the right and the wrong, truth and false, fair and unfair, and choose the righteous path of wisdom and ideals. Climbing up on the higher mountains is harder, but then your endeavors will lead to greater achievements in the end. If you bear hardships for adoption of high ideals, you are indeed elevating your life towards brighter ends.
You are the architect of your future destiny. Life is momentary. So don't miss any instant of this precious opportunity. You are in the middle. You can see both ways upwards and downwards and select the future course of your life prudently.

The only sources of inner joy
God has set a marvelous interdependence within and between the conscious and the inanimate components of Nature in order to maintain the eternal beauty and harmonious functioning of His grand creation. The uncountable numbers of stars and planets revolving in the limitless Universe are mutually connected by natural forces of attraction. Any break in this connectivity would disturb the maintained equilibrium and stability and result in gigantic collision and devastation of the universal system. The same is true of the mutual affinity of the living beings. Just imagine! If a mother does not have a feeling of love or affection for her child, or there is no binding of love between husband and wife, brother and brother, and other family members, then what will be the state of family institution? Lack of the feelings of affectionate caring, amity, cooperation, etc would ruin the entire social system as the latter is founded on these sentiments and consequent unity of its members. Dry-hearts and cruelty would destroy the sense of beauty from Nature.
A sublime spring of pure love is flowing deep within every heart. If we like to be happy, and prosper in an ambience of peace, we will have to awaken the feeling of love in our heart; this should not be an emotional excitement, rather, a feeling of compassion, generosity, honesty, humility, sensitivity, care and respect for others. Those who adopted this divine attitude on every front of their life are truly religious and followers of God. The world reciprocates to them accordingly. Every moment, every circumstance is auspicious for them.

When is a Prayer Granted?

Our prayers deserve to be heard by the Almighty only when we take care of making use of the potentials he has already bestowed upon us. Accumulation of negative tendencies of lethargy, dullness, escapism from duties, ignorance, etc makes one hazardous - for his own life - like a balloon full of concentrated acid, which is most likely to explode anytime or ruin due to the acidic burning.
The rules in the system of God work like a vigilant gardener who uproots the useless and harmful wild growth and carefully nurses the saplings of the useful vegetation. If a field is not ploughed and is full of useless grass or shrubs etc how can it yield a crop (even if the soil is fertile)? Who will praise a farmer, who lets his field be destroyed without bothering to clean it? The system of God certainly can't allow its field of Nature to be left unguarded. The rules of Omnipresent are such that the vices, the evils, the futile get eliminated continuously so that the perfection and eternal beauty of His creation remains unperturbed. If you expect your calls to be heard, you will also have to constantly strive for self-refinement.
The best way to get the response to your prayers is to awaken your self-confidence and follow the path of duties. Then alone your inner self will awake. The opening to the path to the Light Divine lies deep within the realm of soul and enlightened inner self provides the only bridge to reach this sublime source. Those who don't have faith in the dignity of their own souls, who keep ignoring the inner voice and hunt in the external world to quench their wishes are lost in the smog of passions and confusions and invite adversities for themselves. Those who scorn their own (inner) selves are also rebuked at God's end and their prayers evaporate in to void……

Learn to share
You are really fortunate if God has endowed you with vigor, brilliance, knowledge, power, prosperity and glory. Then your life must be progressive and joyful in the worldly sense. But this success or joy would be momentary and won't be fulfilling, if you keep your resources and belongings closed to your chest and use them only for your selfish interests. Your joy, your satisfaction would expand exponentially if you learn to distribute them and share whatever you have with many others.
Try to spend at least a fraction of your wealth, your resources for the needy. Your help will not only give them support to rise and progress, more importantly, it will bestow the spiritual benefits of being kind and altruistic. This will augment your happiness manifold. Those being helped by you will also be happy and thus the stock of joy in the world will also expand.
Distributing and sharing with a sight of altruistic wisdom and a feel of compassion provide the golden key to unalloyed joy. God has been so kind to you; you should also be kind to others. God is defined as the eternal source of infinite bliss because HIS mercy pervades everywhere for all creatures, for everything; every impulse of joy is an expression of HIS beatitude.
You should see the dignity of HIS divine creation in this world. God has also given you an opportunity to glorify your life by selflessly spreading HIS auspicious grace …….

Watch Your Attitude

To most of us the hardships, adversities and challenges of life seem to be intractable like gigantic mountains, dreadful like wild giants, and frightening like impenetrable darkness. But this is all subject to how we take them. In reality nothing is so hard or to tackle; It is mostly our delusion that regards it so and suffers the pains and fears.
Just change your attitude and you will find hope, courage and enthusiasm in all circumstances. Don't lose your morale that you failed in your repeated attempts. Don't worry. There are many other avenues. Look at them. There is no deed-end to trying harder again with better preparation. Move ahead. You just have to try your level best in transacting your duties. Every sincere effort is a step towards the goal; if not today, tomorrow you will succeed. This is the law of Nature. There is always certain consequence, some result of every action. Don't feel helpless. Don't count upon other's support. No one really would have the capacity to help you if you can't help yourself. Never blame anyone for anything wrong or harmful happening to you. Because no one can rule over you and make you suffer. You alone are the friend and the enemy of yourself. The circumstances around you are in fact your own creation. They are neither supportive nor obstructive in reality; this all depends upon your own attitude, how you accept and make use of them.
Refine your attitude, your thinking and your aspirations and let virtuous instincts awaken in yourself. It is the accumulation on the inscriptions of positive thinking and good actions over several lives that awaken devotion in the human self.

In the Shrine of the Heart
Whenever you feel woeful, distressed or helpless in tragic circumstances or adversities around, whenever you feel demoralized by failures, whenever you see despair and darkness all around and are anxious about your future, whenever you are trapped in a dilemma and unable to think discreetly - don't astray anymore in negativity. Remember, when a fox is surrounded by wild dogs and sees no rescue, it runs swiftly back in to its den and feels relaxed and safe.
You should also throw away all thoughts and worries of your mind instantly and take shelter in the depths of your heart (the inner core of emotions, the inner self). Take a deep breath and just forget about everything; think as though nothing, not even your existence is there. As you would have out these things at its doorsteps and enter deeper into the 'shrine' of your heart, you would that all the burden, all the worries and sufferings that were troubling you have evaporated. You have become light and floating like a thin piece of cotton. The calmness of your heart will sooth you like a moonlight shadow or a snow chamber to someone dying of heat in the sun of summer.
The purity of inner self is an edifice of peace and spiritual light. It is the source of ultimate realization and is therefore likened with "Brahmloka". God has graciously endowed us with this paradise to experience diving bliss. But we remain unaware of it and astray externally because of our ignorance.

The Significance of Sat-sang

Sat-sang means being in the company of good people, inspiring discourses and discussions. You should always try to be in the company of such people who protect you from evils and wrongs; who can induce hope even in the moments of despair and offer you encouraging support in adverse circumstances.
It is easy to get the sycophants or selfish friends around, who would just be 'friends' when they need something from you; they need not be your well wishers, and might even pull you in the rut of addictions, ego and avarice; they won't hesitate in stepping you on your back if it suits their vested interests. You may find it difficult to find wise men who would be your guides; who world be your critiques on your face to correct your flaws and advice you righteously; who would warn you of the dangers or risks well in time. People often prefer the company of elite; we should know that the best company is that of the enlightened personalities, the elevated souls. Having true friends, though few in numbers is a sign of wisdom. Noble friendship is quite significant in the ascent of life in many respects. It is foolish to make enemies, but worse is to leave the friendship of good people.
Pure intellect and faith in sincere efforts with assiduity are the two key elements essential for transmutation of personality. Adoption of virtues transforms the bad, debased ones into great personalities; on the contrary, vices could decline and debouch the great ones into mean, inferior, scornful levels. So your friends should be those who inspire the virtues and uproot the vices. You may also begin on your own by cultivating good qualities, like constructive use of time, alertness, sincerity and perseverance… Small steps in the prudent direction lead to brighter goals….

Thirst for What?
Instead of giving content, the worldly desires - even if fulfilled always lead to newer ones with greater thirst. It is said that a human life is just a sojourn in the endless journey of the individual self in its quest for completeness. However, if a human being gets rid of all cravings then he can attain absolute evolution in this life itself. Trishna (thirst for fulfillment of desires, ambitions) is the root cause of all thralldoms, which entraps the individual self in the cycle of life and death. How a person enslaved by cravings would ever be liberated? Salvation means freedom from all worldly desires and expectations. Those having quest for realization of absolute knowledge, truth should best begin with a vigilant watch on their own aspirations and control them prudently.
It is said that inner content is the biggest fulfillment. No amount of wealth could match it. One may be free and independent in worldly terms, but in reality he like most of us is the slave of his mind. The one whose mind is captured by Trishna cannot be free for any moment. Even the most affluent man of the world is like a beggar because of his Trishna; because he would always expect something from the world in terms of greater success, wealthier resources and what not. So if you want to rise and make proper use of your life, you will have to restrain your desires, selfish ambitions. Don't escape from your duties, you must be constructive and must transact your duties sincerely; only you leave out the expectations or attachments with the results. Every action has a corresponding reaction here. The Law of appropriate consequences of your Karma is absolute. So don't be desperate for any result, don't think that the world or the circumstance would conform to your expectations. Renounce your Trishna and be a free being…..

The Light of the Truth

I have seen wonderful things in this world and have experienced a lot, but I have not yet found any thing, which is greater than "Truth". So many sparkling lights and there in this world but the great savants regards only the Light of Truth as the true Light. If one follows the religion of truthfulness then he is truly religious; he does not need to adopt any other religion then ... The physical body can be cleansed by water but the cleanliness and sanctity of mind is possible only by truthfulness. The heart, which is purified by truth, can rule over all hearts. A truthful person is revered in the scriptures as the greatest ascetic devotee, supreme charitable person; Siddhis (supernatural successes) will lie under his feet. What else could be bigger glory for a person other than being known as "truthful....?
Speaking truth is not only the utterance of fact as it is, it should also be auspicious and should not hurt or insult anyone. It's better to keep quite, rather than telling a truth that harms someone and does not help anybody's welfare. Don't tell a lie or anything, which is false, which is not acceptable to you from within or which is unwise or unnecessary. Remember that adoption of falsehood hurts your inner self and invites your soul's anger and curse.
Be truthful; don't feel shy or scared in following the path of justice. Make sure that what you think as fair is truly so, then remain firm on it forever…..?

Enrich Your Heart
Great personalities do not accumulate wealth, neither do they desire for it, because they have a generous heart full of a treasure that is bigger than that of Kuber (God of wealth). It is said that there is no place for the one who is poor (miser) at heart; if there is no compassion in one's heart, he will have no abode (of peace) - neither in this world, nor in the sublime world beyond… A materialistically poor may have many chances of getting wealthy but the one whose heart is merciless will remain a beggar who will get scorn from everywhere.
Who can be a follower of truth and sainthood? Who is worthy of seeing God? The one, whose heart pulsates with generosity and love....., Harsh, dry-hearted, cruel ones are infirm, they are impaired despite having healthy body, mind and resourceful life; they won't be able to enjoy even the nectar kept in their closed vicinity. "O" tyrants, just think before terrorizing others! What will happen the day when you will be in the place of your victims? Why be blinded by selfish passions, ego and follow apathy? You will have to bear the painful retribution life after life....... Mother earth is a witness to this law of eternity: sooner or later the sinners have to face the dreadful punishments of the hell right here. Therefore, be gentle, sensitive, kind and helpful to others.
Those who possess the light of compassion in their hearts will never wander in the dark. So open your eyes to look inside and illumine your heart with the glow of kindness. Be considerate and compassionate to every one around you.

Soul: The Identity of Truth

If we want to know the meaning, the purpose the nature of our life, we must know our own self, our soul. Without that we keep wandering in the infinite trap of illusion and the immensity of worldly circumstances without even having the sight of our goal
If you want to see the light of wisdom, want to excel in the truest sense, you must first accept and ponder over the preeminence of your soul. If you want to live respectful life, learn to respect your soul. Spiritual evolution would begin and eventually lead to unification of your soul (individual self) with the Supreme Soul (God) only if you purify, enlighten your self up to virtuous levels. For that, you will have to recognize and experience the divinity hidden in your soul.
Refinement and rise from inferior to superior, evil to nobility, is possible only if you realize that your soul, your inner self is originally a reflection of the divine. Respecting your inner self, your soul-reality does not mean that you become egotist or arrogant or have some superiority complex. In fact, that would be just a contrary act, a blunder of your ignorance. So be careful and understand that the respect of your own self means honor of your soul, your eternal impersonal self. You should attempt to see the light of divinity indwelling in it, see the presence of God in it and worship it by sublime illumination of your heart, mind and conduct. Remembering it every moment should remind you that you are breathing in the presence of God and should edify your aspirations, your thoughts, your deeds accordingly.

Where is the lasting Joy?
We are all driven by the quest for joy. Behind all our plans, actions, expectations, lies this perennial thirst for joy. But because of our natural perception of the world and life at the gross material level, our domain of search remains confined to the sentient world and related extrovert experiences. We are not even aware that there could be an inner bliss or spiritual joy.
The feeling of delight is within us. How could the external things, material experiences enhance or suppress it? They might just give a momentary excitation or satisfy our ego for sometime. The true means and sources of joy lie deep within our own selves. The vedic philosophy logically describes this fact - it is the consciousness-element of mind, which feels the joy. so, without knowing this sublime element or deciphering its nature and conditioning it, one can't hope for unalloyed bliss or lasting joy. Conquering the mind indeed bigger than conquering the world. One who succeeds in it is the happiest, strongest person in this world.
Hidden there is the subtle spring of infinite bliss in the core of our inner self. What we ever experience as joy is only a sprinkle of this immense source. The pleasures, if any we find in the outer world are also a reflection of this inner impulse. As the Vedic science (of Yoga etc) preach - in order to have to purify and control our minds (both conscious and unconscious mind), stabilize and uproot its agility and extrovert tendencies. Such a mind can eventually have the realization of divinity, of the absolute truth, the omnipresent, eternal "Brahm". Attaining this state is a grand "Sadhana". The gamut of universal principles of religion is taught only for this purpose. The righteous path of morality, human religion alone can reach the realms of ever lasting joy.

So not Panic or Perplex

Life is full challenges and testing moments! Many a times the adverse circumstances are so intense that one just can't bear them, he loses patience, gets anxious and panicked; cries on his destiny and helplessness… But this doesn't solve the problem. The only source of definite support in such cases is - prudence and patience.
Ups and downs, good and bad experiences are natural phases of human life. We must remember this fact and convince ourselves of the truth that wisdom and pure knowledge (Gyana) are the only key to conquer the agonies caused by the tides of adversities or tragedies. Firm faith in God's grace and justice is a must in such testing moments of sufferings. We must understand that our knowledge is too limited to grasp the system of God. Whether we realize it at that time or not, the circumstances and experiences that appear so painful to us also occur in fact for our welfare only.
Because of our half or illusory knowledge and narrow attitude, we cannot grasp the real cause or purpose behind the happenings in our life. We must accept it that major cause of our agonies and anxiety is our ignorance; we want everything to conform to our expectation, our favor. But the course of life has many dimensions, beyond our perception. Faith in absolute justice and mercy of the Omniscient God is all the more important in the moments of hardships and pains. this gives us instant courage and light and helps maintain our calm without which we can't even think properly. All religious scriptures preach the importance of the feeling of content and peace in all circumstance. It is indeed the nectar source of annulling all worries and panics even in the difficult, tragic situations. Adoption of peace, patience and satisfaction does not mean that you should not transact your duties or progress in your life. Rather, it implies that you should complete all your tasks, all duties, with mental stability and calm and a sense of inner faith in all circumstances.

You are the Architect of your Destiny
If you depend upon others or look for someone's help in the moments of difficulty, you must be living under some illusion. Otherwise, you would identify the root-cause of the problems you are facing and analyze your own vices and flaws that might have been responsible for those troubles. By overcoming those drawbacks and weaknesses, you would be best equipped to resolve or get rid of most of your problems on your own.
With the aspiration of being progressive and successful, you should also begin adopting virtuous tendencies and sharpening and enhancing your potentials. Your destiny is indeed written according to your intrinsic nature, inner qualities. Intense impressions of your tendencies, sentiments and thinking and conduct, account for shaping of your inner personality, which is attributed to be the architect of your future evolution. God's system works according to ……… "You harvest what you have sown". If good qualities, abilities are not cultivated by you, and the seeds of virtues are left in a virgin (dormant) state within your self, and instead, negative tendencies, follies, untoward habits are allowed to accumulate and grow, God's rule will formulate your destiny as full of sufferings; you will not have a good fate or hopes in future unless and until you refine yourself and inculcate the potentials of elevation. So it is in fact in your own hand to design your destiny.
If you awaken your self-confidence, set high ideals as your goal and sincerely endeavor to make yourself capable and deserving for that goal, God's script will indeed destine you to have a bright and successful life accordingly. If you think wisely, know yourself and earnestly search for the illumined goal, you will certainly find the righteous path to achieve it at the right moment.

Look Introvert for Peace

If you are looking for introvert peace, you must follow the path to spirituality. For this you must turn your extrovert sight inwardly. A bewildered fellow deluded and tried of wandering in the hazy mist of external world, finds, immense peace and light in the inner world.
When we understand the illusory nature of the gamut of things and activities in the work around and get introvert, ponder over our inner self, only then we realize that we had lost our way all these days; our cravings, materialistic needs and passions were driving our life and we were running behind the mirage of happiness. But now we know that nothing can ever satisfy the passions, no one can ever fulfill his ambitions. Attempting to do so is like pouring petrol in fire. Thus, instead of running behind the shadow to catch it, we must turn our back to it. Having a glimpse of the inner treasure detaches us from the perishable pennies for which we had been wasting all our potentials and time. Introvert search takes us near the God and shows the key to infinite joy and peace.
Once we know our real self, grasp the reality of the world, and see the inner light, the nectar-spring of unprecedented peace erupts from within and extinguishes the flames of discontent, desperations and tensions forever. With the rise of the feeling of true fulfillment, there hardly remains any worldly need or desire; every thing in hand or gifted by Nature for survival suffices and every circumstance becomes a source of expanding joy.

Darkness to Light
Truth! Truth! Truth! What a force and impact this word carries that even uttering this word seems to sooth the tongue, thought of it itself gives some light to the mind and feeling of it rejuvenates the heart. The transition from falsehood to truth is an ascent from filthy mire to pious skies, a transmutation from beastly instincts, devilish darkness to divine virtues and eternal light.
Truth is absolute, eternal. God is Truth, the Soul is Truth, God's creation of Nature is Truth; Truth is Omnipresent. It is the ultimate goal of life. Truth is the ceaseless perennial quest of the individual self, for which it takes birth, life after life. Age after Age … This life is bestowed upon us as yet another opportunity to realize the ultimate truth and savor the nectar of infinite bliss.
It is pitiable that we remain ignorant of this fact that - what we think of the world around (and die hunting for the mirage of joy in it) is not true; it is nothing but the image of our own perception. Once you understand this fact, you will turn towards truth. You will become a follower of Truth; it will be your ideal; an integral part of your character. "Truth" will then show you the divine radiance of your inner self.
If everybody works, every deed of yours is truthful, the world will truthfully honor you and you will inspire many others towards its noble path. The Vedic teaching reminds all of us to follow the path of truth - "Asato Ma Sadgamaya", as this is the only source of auspicious welfare of all ….

Life is Supreme

Divine knowledge and selfless love enlighten every dimension of life, destroy all vices and worries; there remain no feelings of hatred, jealously, discrimination, or fear. And then, one is blessed by the divine sight to see the pure love, justice and equality indwelling everywhere.
If you want to experience the divine joy make your mind a source of wisdom, firm determination and noble thoughts; let your heart be an auspicious ocean of compassion. Control your tongue, purify and discipline it to speak truth. This will help your self-refinement and inner strengthening and eventually inspire the divine impulse of eternal love.
If you have integrity of character, authenticity in what you talk and do, people will believe you. You will not have to attempt convincing them. The wise and sincere seekers will themselves reach you. If in addition, you are generous and have an altruistic attitude towards everyone, you will also naturally win people's heart. The warmth, words and works of truth and love never go in the void. Their positive impact is an absolute certainty.
There should be no doubt in your minds that pure love is omnipresent and supreme. It contains the power to accomplish the eternal quest of life. It facilitates uprooting the vices and allaying the agility, apprehensions and tensions of mind. Selfless love is a divine virtue, a preeminent source of auspicious peace and joy.

Swadhyaya is an Essential Daily
Swadhyaya - the study of self in the light of the thoughts of elevated souls - is a principal means of ascent in human life. It augments knowledge, enlightens the mind and helps purifying the character and awakening the inner self. It is a kind of Sadhana (devout endeavor) that ensures Siddhi (supreme success). Swadhyaya is necessary for preeminent progress and happiness in life. Adoption of this as an integral part of daily routine gradually sharpens the intellect, nurtures discerning thoughts and wisdom and illuminates the inner self. Therefore we must cultivate the habit of reading inspiring thoughts and works of great personalities and edifying scriptures and contemplate over what is read and also try disseminating it among others.

Embrace Forgiveness

Fire burns everything that comes into its contact. But the heat of anger of a person burns only himself. If you hit the earth by your hand, it's only your hand that will suffer the pains. Your annoyance or irritation upon someone might disturb or hurt him, but it will certainly and firstly do more harm to you. Even if you feel justified in taking revenge against someone's misdeeds and even if you are mightier and capable of retaliating, you should better forgive. Because, your anger and arrogance would be worse (for you also) than whatever wrong one might have done (to you). As you might have experienced on several occasions, if one controls the wrath and maintain mental stability, most disputes or problems could be resolved peacefully and give you the content of mind, which you are dying for.
So what if you take revenge against someone's wrong against you? Every animal has this beastly instinct. Even a tiny ant can do that. Greater is the one who can forgive his enemies. Why don't you learn something from the earth? You dig it, plough it, but in return, it blesses you with crops, water, minerals and what not! Look at the piece of sugarcane! You cut it, press it, chew it, but it reacts by filling your mouth with sweet juice.
Those who have harmed you or committed crime against you are coward, weak, ignorant, because only those having a dormant conscience can do so. Why should you belittle yourself by responding back at their level? It does not suit an intrepid warrior to use weapons against the blinds or the slept ones.
Your act of revenge might sometimes, give temporary 'satisfaction' to your ego, but the joy induced by your act of forgiving would last for long.

Generous Like The Clouds
Stingy fellows, who keep their resources only to themselves and remain apathetic to others' sufferings, are in fact accounting sins for their future destiny. Those who have stocked heaps of wealth in their possession but never use it are mere 'guards' of money. Such fellows are burden on this earth that can do nothing for anyone. Even materialistically, they don't enjoy anything; the thirst of gaining more, the worries and tensions of safeguarding the possession and the miserly attitude do not let them live in peace; they neither eat well nor can give anything to others. Despite having millions or billions of riches, they remain poor, beggars … Thirst for more and more of selfish passions does not even let one see what are the right or wrong means of pilling the stocks of wealth. Prosperity earned by unfair means cannot let one prosper …. One dies empty handed and later one all that dead property possessed by him does no good to even to those who grabs it afterwards….
On the contrary those who earn honestly and spend magnanimously and wisely in good, constructive and auspicious activities are always prospering. They are like clouds, which eschewer generously; even if emptied today, the clouds are filled again and return back tomorrow with same dignity.
Integrity, benevolence, caring and helping sociability - are virtues of greatness, which can make the entire world your own. No one can forget the warmth of meeting such amicable personalities. But, the selfish fellows, howsoever talented and affluent they might be, remain aloof and virtually isolated; their state is like that of milk kept in a dirty pot, which is thrown without use….

A Perfect Deal

Man is a mortal being and all his belongings are also perishable. Only one of his 'possessions' that lasts for Ages after he is gone is his glory. One who earns this preeminence is indeed most successful in the 'business' of life even if he has sacrificed or lost on the materialistic front. His trade is like, for example that of getting a new stout building in return of selling off an unused heap of hay. Great ones are those who refine and excel their lives up to glorious heights, worth the dignity of human life. Dormant lives of others mushroom and end like that of any other creature who survives just to fill the tummy and quench the sensual thirst.
Those stuck in the peripheries of selfish possession and attachments are shortsighted, their activities, despite the physical dynamism and alacrity are no better than 'movable corpse'. A dormant life is no life. Fools gather more and more of wealth and resources so that their beloved ones would enjoy it all generations after generations. They spent all their time, talents and efforts in insane and at times unfair possession and its safety. Wouldn't it be wiser of them if they had employed their resources prudently in the activities of progress and welfare? This would have brightened their own future as well along with supporting more and more people around and contributing in constructive reformation and development.
Draining or throwing away the useful things and collecting the rubbish or hazardous ones - is a clear sign of insanity. Aren't they mindless who invite enmity all the time by using absurd, abusive, acrimonious tongue? Anybody, howsoever learned, skillful and smart he might be, is unwise if instead of augmenting the virtuous qualities, he opts for vices and weaknesses.

Acquisition of Knowledge
Sagacious (truly learned) people are like soothing fragrance of flowers. They carry an aura of serene joy with them wherever they go and spread it unconditionally. Their benevolence is for everyone; every place is home to them. Vidya (pure knowledge) is the real wealth. Everything else is negligible against it. This treasure is immortal. It remains with the individual self even in the later lives. The intelligence enlightened by Vidya continues to evolve and gradually transmutes to the omniscient level; the individual self eventually sees the light of the soul and attains ultimate realization.
The deeper you dig a well, the more water you would find in it. Similar is the case with acquisition of knowledge. The more you learn, the deeper you question and attempt to know …... the greater will be your knowledge. What is the reality of the world? What is the source of peace and happiness? Only those who have attained Vidya would know the answers. Vidya alone can accomplish the eternal quest of the individual self. Then why are we so idle and indifferent towards earning this invaluable wealth? Age is never a bar in learning. No matter if you are old or even lying on death bed, so long as your mind is alive, your consciousness is present, you should have the will and zeal to acquire higher, greater knowledge, because this is a sublime treasure that you can carry along with your subtle and astral bodies in the lives after death.
They are indeed pitiable, fortune-less who escape from learning. Remember! Knowledge is the key to strength and success in the ascent of life. Even if you have to beg before a noble teacher to learn it, you should do it because acquisition of knowledge and inner enlightenment is your dignified duty (as a human being) …

The Illusive Reality

One who knows that he knows not, but claims he knows - is a liar. One who knows little bit but thinks he knows - is ignorant. One who knows not and knows and accepts that he knows not - is sincere. One who knows partially and knows that he knows not - is a learner. But none can know it because it is impossible to knot it. This is what is the Maya - the 'grand illusion' of our perception of the gigantic creation of God.
One who knows that he knows and also knows that he does not - is wise. He does not say it despite knowing a lot. Because he knows a lot and therefore knows that nothing could be said or discussed about it. One who knows that it is undecipherable infinity and immerses the 'illusion' of self-identity into devotion of the Omniscient - is enlightened ….
His existence is unified with the devotion and love of God. He has realized the absolute void in the infinity (of Maya - the illusive creation) and the infinity (of God) in the void (sublime) what doubts or queries he would have? Nothing! What he would know and about what? Nothing! He says nothing. What he would say and to whom? He knows God and knows that God alone knows His Maya.

Transacting the Duties
That which is unambiguously permitted by your conscience is righteous, worth doing. That which is prevented or is doubted by your inner self should not be done. this is how duties and the 'faux pas' could be defined in simplest terms for those whose hearts are pure and minds are enlightened enough to grasp the impulse of the inner self.
One who is sincere in transacting his duties is worthy of God's grace. He will never be helpless or sorry in any circumstance. He is a beloved disciple of God who bears the responsibilities selflessly as per thy will. Such morally refined, virtuous persons might be found lacking in wealth or in worldly (materialistic) possessions, but this would be only in the gross terms. In reality, such devotees possess immense spiritual power. How could they have any worry or scarcity? Austerity of life is their choice. Indeed the greatest treasure of the world lies with such saintly people only. This limitless treasure never empties; rather, it expands more and more with spending ….
A vicious man always has a threat of being counter-attacked by the enemies; his own evils and negativity ruin all the peace and joy from his life. But the whole world is benevolent for a moral, duty-bond altruistic fellow. No one is his enemy; neither has he had any attachment with anybody. Everything, everyone, is alike for him. His heart is full of love for everyone.
A thought of morality and saintly virtues itself inspires a unique feeling of peace, hope and enlightenment in the inner self. God wants each one of us to experience it and follow it towards sublime evolution of our lives …..

Rise! Have Courage

Please note! Advertises and obstructions are there for your own good. They occur to activate your strength and trigger its constructive use. Hidden beneath them is the spring of joy. Those who have never faced any hindrances or struggled against hardships would not know the real taste of happiness and success in life. Only those who have accepted these challenges with courage and stability and conquered over giant struggles in their lives are worthy of being called achievers, distinguished heroes. It is only the lives of such great people that deserve to be dignified.
So don't loose heart. Awaken! Rise! And look at the Almighty - the Divine Light of your Life-Force. God has not sent you in human from without any purpose. He has endowed you with immense potentials: it's your duty to make use of them. Suffering and sorrows surface in our world only until we don't sacrifice our narrow self-interests for greater aims in life. A sapling sprouts and a tree grows from only that seed which dissolves self-existence in the soil; flowers and fruits illustrate its accomplishments and expand its glory.
So, Be Happy and face all testing moments with smile and courage. Have unflinching faith in the eternal truth that your soul is omnipotent. This is what corresponds to having faith in God. The force of this intrinsic faith would wane out all your fears and weaknesses. Its impetus will awaken your inner strength by which you can eliminate all hindrances and win all battles of life.

Quest for Joy
Man wanders all the time, throughout his life, in search of joy, blissful peace, but remains dismayed and astray ….. Acquisition of hoards of wealth, worldly comforts, good health, delicious food, palatial house, vehicles, servants, gorgeous cloths, beauty, beloved family, faithful friends, supporters all around, powers, prestige, name and fame security …. And what not he looks for? People who lack in any of these strive for their possession; those, who already have, try to possess more with new passions ….
This scenario is like that of the tale of the swan (flamingo), which is hunting for the pearl since Ages, but finds nothing but a drop of dew …… why? Because, it did not really search for the pearl; did not even turn his face in the direction of the grand Ocean "Mansarovar" where the pearl is hidden in the depths … It did not gather the courage and strength to fly so long …. Short-sighted intellect and pleasure hungry mind advised it - "what is the guarantee that you will find that unseen Mansarovar"; and who knows whether there will really be any pearl and you would trace it? So it satisfied itself with the shining drops of dew; licked it and thought it has quenched the thirst …; it flew for sometime and the thirst recurred with greater intensity. The cycle continued …
This is what happens with most of us who keep searching for 'immortal' joy in the mirage of perishable world, keep accumulating more of what gives only a momentary pleasure but keeps us away from the sight of real bliss…..

On the Karma Yoga of Gita

Every human being, each one of us, it born in human form to play a specific role, transacts some specific duty. This duty and one's ability to fulfill it depends upon one's intrinsic character since birth. Honest efforts to do the Karmas towards these duties are what could be termed as the gist of Karma Yoga. It was essentially this duty that Arjun was reminded by Lord Krishna in the holy Bhagvad Gita. Lord Krishna made him aware of the majestic purpose for which Arjun was born on the earth. God has given us the freedom of Karma and hence of creating our own future destiny; but we can't escape transacting the destined duties. God lives within every living being and triggers the direction of one's life as per the accumulated effects of one's past Karmas. The molecular or cellular components or the RBCs in our blood are bound to be at the assigned positions and be engaged in specific functions as per their biological nature. They are the parts of our body and hence should be governed by us. But we can't change their natural properties in any case. Thus, they are independent too … This is how we are also independent in God's creation.
We have the freedom in choosing our (new) karmas despite having to live as per certain destined circumstances, but the results of these would be according to our intentions, aim and nature of our Karmas as per the absolute law of the Supreme Creator. That is why God says - "Karmanyeva Adhikarste, Ma Phalesu Kadachan". Those who do not, and always expect desired outputs in return of their actions, are on the contrary, often found complaining their destiny or the world and remain desperate and dismayed most of the time.

Renunciation of Karma is Self- Deception
Often people misinterpret the preaching of the holy Gita and Vadanta and regard the state of inaction as that of detachment and soul-realization. But this is mere delusion, idleness and escapism. Making the body inactive or renouncing the family and duties does not serve any purpose of spiritual ascent. What is important is the liberation of the mind from all ego, expectations and selfish attachments. You should perform all your duties, do all your work at your level best but be detached from the end-result.
Don't expect the results of your actions to be as per your will or imagination. But don't leave your actions (Karmas) thinking that every thing will happen as per your destiny. You can't live even for a single moment without any Karma - be that physical or mental. You are born do transact your duties. This is what is implied in the following hymn:
"Na Kaschitksanamapi jatu
Tisthtykarma krat !
Karyate Hyavasah Karma Sarvah
Prakratijairgunaih !!"
The system of nature is such that it triggers every being, every particle, to act as per its natural tendencies. We might prevent the actions of our body or the sense organs for sometime; but what about the flow of thoughts and the impulses of unconscious mind? Those who attempt such superficial renouncement and try to evade from duties, actions suffer more agility and turbulence of desires and intrinsic tendencies in the mind … They are fame and self-cheaters.

First Give, Then Gain

Great personalities always appeal and motivate people in their contact to give something for noble causes. They themselves sacrifice everything they had. This is what makes them great. Through pondering over this fact has taught me that there is no religious duty greater than giving or sacrificing (for others welfare), which we can do any time (provided we have the will and attitude). There is no better mode than renunciation (of selfish possessions and attachments) for elimination of evil tendencies and untoward accumulation in the mind.
If you want to acquire precious knowledge, attain people's respect, achieve something great, and then first learn to give what best you can for the society, for altruistic service. Donate your talents, intellect, time, labor, wealth, whatever potentials or resources you have for the betterment of the world …; You will bet manifold of that in return ….. Gautam Buddha had renounced the royal throne; Gandhi had left the brilliant career, wealth, comforts….. As the world has witnessed, what they were rewarded in return was indeed immeasurable, immortal….
It is worth recalling the beautiful verse of renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore her, which says - He spread his hands open an asked for something …. I took out a tiny piece of grain from my bag and kept on His palm. At the end of the day, I found a golden piece of same size in my bag. I cried - why didn't empty my bag for Him, which would have transformed me, the poor man into a King of Wealth?

Think High, Aim High
You may get clay toys with ease. But it's not so easy to find gold. The tendencies of mind are often downwards and naturally drag it towards harmful actions and sins. However, it requires substantial efforts and zeal to carry out something worth, auspicious and beneficial. For example, the natural flow of water is from higher to lower levels, but the use of powerful pumps etc is required to take it upwards.
Sensual passions, ignorance-driven ambitions, untoward thoughts are hidden enemies that delude the mind of giving pleasure' but enslave it in a vicious trap. Likewise the gravitational force of the earth, they also have some kind of power of attraction, which pulls more and more tendencies and thoughts of similar kind.
But, the same is true of positive sane thoughts, aspirations and determination as well; they also attract the likes and create more powerful field of attraction. Once we awaken the will and vigilance to think wisely and practice restraining the accumulated passions, we will begin to experience the transforming effects. Unchecked accumulation of negative thoughts and vices sooner or later leads to decline, anxiety, despair and sinful sufferings. We should therefore be careful and watch and control our thoughts fro this very moment.

Awakening the Inner Strength

Human life is a turning point in the evolution of consciousness. One who loses this opportunity and does not attempt awakening his inner self, knowing his soul, is the biggest loser. He cannot attain peace - neither in this life, nor in the life beyond. Thus, if we are truly desirous of ascent, beatifying bliss and peace, we must begin to look inwards. Joy is not there in the outer world, not in any achievement or possession of power and enormous resources. It is the soul, which is the origin and ultimate goal of this intrinsic quest
Just think! Happiness is a virtue of consciousness, how could then the inanimate things of this world give us joy? it is after all the "individual self", which aspires for unalloyed joy and enjoys it. Then how could it be so dependent upon others for this natural spirit of the consciousness Force? How could the world, which is ever changing and perishable, be the source of fulfilling our eternal quest? On the contrary, the sensual pleasures, the worldly joys, which delude us all the time, mostly consume our strength and weaken the life force of our sense organs and our mind.
This fact should be remembered again and again that the quest, the feeling of blissfulness are there because of the soul and it is only the awakened force of the soul, the inner strength that can lead the evolution of the individual self to the highest realms of eternal beatitudeus bliss.

Who is Religious?
Love, compassion, generosity, kindness, devotion, zeal, honesty, truthfulness, unflinching faith in diving values, etc - are the natural virtues of the soul. Their presence in a person is the sigh of his/her spirituality. These alone are the source of spiritual means of inner strength. Your endeavors for cultivating these qualities in your character must continue with greater intensity till your personality is fully imbibed with them. One who achieves this, he/she alone is truly spiritual and religious; he/she alone is worthy of meeting God - being beatified by thy grace.
Devotion of God is not confined to a specific religious cult or rituals. It lies in the deepest core of the inner emotions. Those who chant God's name need not be religious; truly religious are those who follow the divine disciplines, adopt divine values in their conduct. Guiding the path to unification of the soul with God - inculcation of divinity in the human self, is the foundational purpose of religion. Blessed are those who grasp this noble truth of religion and devotion.
Those who have reached this state of devotion would deserve attaining the eternal light of ultimate knowledge. They can realize God in their pure hearts and experience the absolute bliss forever….

Who Do You Worship - The Divine or the Devil?

Man misidentifies himself as the physical body. Although he has herd something like 'he has a soul that is different from the body' but does not quite believe it or is not even able to imagine it. If most of us were not living under this illusion about unity of the self with the living body, this land (Nepal) of great Rishis would not have become home to vast spread corruption and confusion. It was this sacred land where Lord Krishna had preached Bhagvad Gita to Arjun and reminded him that he is not the body. As we have totally forgotten this fact and never bother to know about our own "self", how could we know the Omnipresent Self, the God?
We are living in a state of utter ignorance and darkness. Whatever suits our deluded convictions or convinces our selfish intellect that has become the definition of God for us. It is like considering a rope to be a snake because of lack of light. Indeed the rope resembles the shape of a snake and both would look alike if kept at a dark place. But as we all know they are not the same. It is only our illusion because of which we might confuse one with the other. It is a pity that this is what we the 'intelligence beings' have done to-day by regarding the devil as the divine.
Its time we awaken and ponder over our reality. We should attempt to realize that - the soul is sublime; it is not perceivable by the body or the materialistic means.

The Roots of Fulfillment
Most thinkers, philosophers of the world opine that self-evolution is a natural desire, and tendency of every living being. In fact this is what lies behind one's quest for progress and joy. . All efforts, all competitions and struggles for worldly possessions, sensual pleasures, ego-satisfaction emanate from this root-cause in the deepest depth, through we don's realize it because of our extrovert attitude and illusions of letting the worldly substances and circumstances as the keys to a treasure of joy.
One earns money with hard work and keeps saving it to get more and more why? Because he 'feels' it like a source of joy. But the same fellow might spend his savings in gorgeous arrangements of his child's marriage? Why? Because that might give him a 'feeling' of greater pleasure of making his child happy or gaining prestige in the society or what not ….! A dacoit risks his life in bringing huge wealth in loot, but what does he do of it? He might just throw it in drinking liquor; because for him that might appear to be a greater source of pleasure than saving the money or using it some other ways. If the savings are consumed in religious aims or treatment of a disease, one does not feel so bad as one would, if the same amount was lost due to burglary. So what we see common in all these examples and perhaps in every action of our life is that one opts for what he or she feels or thinks as more satisfying, although this satisfaction or joy might be just circumstantial, illusory and short-lived. Deeper thinking would indicate that the root of this quest for joy or fulfillment lies beneath the sublime core of eternal quest of the self for ascent, for betterment, for unbounded evolution … Then we would then attempt for the absolute unalloyed bliss, ultimate fulfillment.

Causes of thinking Suicides

Most people find their lives purposeless, wasted and worthless. That is why with an ordinary illness or some slightly unfavorable situation, the individual prays for an end to his life.
In the opinion of one psychologist, every person thinks of committing suicide more than once in his life. It is a different thing that he does not develop enough courage to end his life. Even then some impulsive persons commit suicide because of petty reason like failing in examination, losing a jog, quarrels in the family or defeat in a court of law. The number of people committing suicide because of such reason is on the increase.
Why do people commit suicide? Psychologists give various answers to this question. Some people say that a man gets so much frightened on seeing disappointing atmosphere everywhere around him that he does not find any solution except this. According to some psychiatrists, people with violent tendencies who are unable to express them, destroys themselves by these tendencies.
Some persons find them selves so much lonely and helpless that they find no benefit in living and they think, 'why not to commit suicide?, after all what is there in life?. some persons think of committing suicides during emotional excitement and prepare a plan for suicide during such a condition.
The main reason for suicides is said to be depression due to any reason, whether due to physical illness or failure in examination, love or competition. A tendency of revenge is also said to be behind suicides. According to this opinion some member of the family commits suicide to teach a lesson to other members.
Some people commit suicide because of a burden of feeling guilty, since they are unable to find a solution to get rid of guilty-feelings. Many others commit suicide because they are fed up of old age, rejection by spouse, unemployment, court cases etc.
The reason for suicide is the experience of worthlessness of this life. It is also true that each person not just once, but many times think of his life worthless and many times a burden. To free himself from this burden, the person thinks of self-destruction.
The question arises, 'Is life so much worthless that by disappointment in small matters, one should think of ending it?' If a self-analysis is made seriously, it will be found that every person finds many times that his life is worthless and a burden.
Whatever the reason, but the worthlessness of life is felt with such intensity that by ending it, no difference is felt. Knowingly or unknowingly, in every person's mind, there is a feeling of disappointment, sadness and lack of worth regarding his life and this is expressed from time to time in various ways - sometimes as sadness because of lack of success, sometimes as irritation due to heavy work, or sometimes as inconsistent conduct with others.
All these negative sentiments are concealed expressions of feeling worthless. There is another kind of life like a flower which keeps on spreading its fragrance all rounds from the time it flowers forth till it falls to the ground.

Golden Rules for Healthy Life

  1. Ten golden rules given below are useful for everyone for a healthy life.
  2. Physical celibacy must be observed to the maximum possible extent. Only when there is an unavoidable need for begetting a child, should one think of sex. Husband and wife should regard each other - with purity - as two brothers.
  3. Save yourself from mental lust. Just as one feels innocent joy on seeing a beautiful flower, so should one feel when seeing a man or woman full of beauty?
    3. Go to bed early, and arise early.
  4. One must pay sufficient attention to cleanliness of the body, clothes, residence and furniture etc.
  5. One should not shy away from physical work. Plan a regimen of daily exercise which will tire you heavily.
  6. Avoid or discard negative feelings like anger, anxiety, despair, jealousy, malice. Everyone should cultivate the habit of living with a cheerful smile.
  7. Do not cover yourself excessively with clothes. The body should be trained to bear heat and cold.
  8. Save yourself from addictions of any and every type. Just as you will be afraid of a poisonous snake, similarly be afraid of bad company, dirty books and dirty entertainment.
  9. Avoid or discard artificialness, make-up, falsehood and childish pursuit of fashions. Just like gentlemen, keep simple attire. Lead a satisfied life and do not burn in the fire of ambitions.
  10. Do not imitate others. Let their way of thinking, habits and behavior be with them. Use your mental and physical efforts with discretion and develop the courage to walk alone firmly along your chosen path.

The person who can follow the above instruction given can make his life healthy and can pass his life in fully peace.

Human life is the Gift of God

Health, peace as well as honor and reputation are given to the powerful people. Everyone looks in a cruel way at weak and feeble mended persons. The existence of an emotional and weak person is insecure in every place and situation. No body becomes helpful in their development and even God seems to be averse to such a person. Even cruel death throws its cold arms around them first. The principle and rule in this life is the protection and development of the fittest. That is why in its organization, weak people have to face dangers and suffering at every step.
One must accept the need for nourishing and maintaining strength for successful and secure life. Swami Vivekananda has written that first of all one must develop strength. Developing and maintaining strength is the only path to progress. By this way only can one go nearer to the soul and the Supreme Entity viz. God? What ever the goal, it is achievable only by individual or collective power.
Sudden success is not achievable in any field. For that purpose, one has to go on developing one's powers by constant efforts. There is no doubt that all the things and attainments are achievable. But it is also true that for achieving them, worthiness is essential, also it is equally true that to protect them development of the powers is essential.
Worthiness is created only by constant efforts. There is no scarcity of knowledge in this world, but there is a scarcity of that intellectual capacity because of which we are not capable of attaining it. That capacity has to be developed by constant education. To develop worthiness and strength for success in any fields only this rule applies. For this reason, weakness is considered a sin which makes a person stray from the path and throws a person into the pit of difficulties.
Weakness is considered a terrible punishment in the law of nature. To remove it, one will have to become worthy because only a strong person becomes successful in the battle of life. Such a person never becomes old, because he always remains young at heart.
Nutritious food is certainly essential for keeping the body healthy, but even more essential is the stability of mental condition. Nourishment gives energy and energy provides health. However the essential source of energy is the brain which provides not only the energy for digesting the food but to keep all the organs of the body working in organized co-ordination.
Howsoever nourishing the food, it will not give any benefit if the mind is upset. On the contrary when the mental condition is peaceful and balanced, health can be maintained even with meager simple food. Constant mental exertion without interest causes dryness of the skin and other skin-diseases. Similarly at the time of anger, fury and excitement or during disappointment and dejection, the mental condition produces poisonous chemicals internally and their effect is seen on the body. Although the effect is seen on the body, the symptoms are related to the condition of the mind. Lingering frustration and fear due to any event or situation are the two diseases conferred on man by modern culture or 'progress' - psychiatrists call them as depression and phobia. Such type of ill persons keeps an attitude of resistance towards their familial and societal obligations. The main symptoms found in these patients are to become irritated at the drop of a pin and to start weeping suddenly after becoming angry.
Emotional tension also gets converted many times into physical pain. Headache, pain in the abdomen, pain in the joints, chest-pain, pain in the waist etc are more because of mental reasons than physical ones. The root causes here is some worry, fear, some anxiety about trouble in the future or some unhappy memory of the past. This condition of the mind affects any organ of the body and manifests in the pain in that part.

The Secret of a Healthy Life.

Remaining part of "the secret of a healthy life" --- We should give up our short-sighted attitude and adopt a rational approach of thinking over a long-term future. There is no reason why we should not hope for a long life by adopting simplicity in food and life-style, if we understand the importance of good health and are also aware of the consequences of a weak body and illnesses. Most people cannot give up in-discipline in life, the tongue - ever greedy for newer tastes - is not ready for simple food, and the other bodily-senses also want a free reign and on the other front nature also do not deviate from its rule of punishing the undisciplined person with illness. Man groans from the sufferings of many diseases and dies. it is possible to bring a change in the individual with self-discipline and mankind can easily free itself from the widespread catastrophe of ill health.
An ill person is a burden on this earth. While groaning and suffering from illness, he is wasting the time of others who have to look after him and nurse him. He becomes unhappy and makes others unhappy. His earning is temporarily suspended, and there is a greater dent in his financial situation with extra expenses for medicines and other requirements. His helplessness may also create dirt around him and revulsion in others. An ill-body houses an ill mind and the patient becomes irritable, finds fault at the drop of a pin and makes others around him sad. His nature becomes perverse; he becomes a curse for himself, his family and for the society.
To sa ve oneself from illness, all that is required is timely precaution. The adage "Prevention is better than cure" holds true any time. One must develop the habit of a cheerful smile on one's face. it is a good habit, such a smile can be considered a serene and invaluable beauty. Not all the items of toilette can give the type of glow which a smile bestows on one's face. This is a free remedy of enhancing one's personality free of charge. One should stand in front of a mirror and try to find which expressions look more pleasant and attractive. People disapprove of a sad face and still more, expressions of anger, excitement, despair and anxiety. Everyone tries to keep away from such people. Maintaining silence is considered a symbol of lack of interest, lack of activeness and a timid nature. Their circle of friends also starts diminishing gradually.
It is very inappropriate to think that man becomes happy and flourishes with an abundance of wealth and luxuries and therefore one must leave all else and go on accumulating wealth. Bodily strength and beauty of the face have their own importance. Money is also necessary because it helps to obtain the necessities of life. Even then it should not be forgotten that the nature and level of one's personality are inseparably linked with the mind. Ignoring this truth results in great loss. Howsoever great the importance of health, education, talent and position in life, their benefit is limited only to the collection of comforts and facilities. But there is something beyond that. If that were not so, then only the prosperous would be the masters of all they surveyed and then nobody would care for the great people.
One should understand the importance of the mind and must constantly strive, not only for controlling its waywardness, but also use it for deep thinking and thereby purify it. There is great truth in the saying that one who controls himself can also rule others. Mind and soul have been described in many and varied ways - in short it can be described as one's level of thinking. Beliefs, feelings and faith are all within its ambit. Imagination, description and guesswork all work within its sphere. Habit one's nature and respect for others, they all develop here. Although it appears that thoughts spring by themselves and impose themselves on us, actually it is not so. This is because first we decide on a particular line of thinking and then the thoughts starts flowing accordingly. If we want to change our situation, the prime solution is to change our way of thinking.
First of all we must fight against those habits which are responsible for shackling us in situation of despair. Just as there is no cure for paralysis, bodily handicaps and debility, so is the case of a man - as long as he is in the grip of attitudes and thoughts. Lazy people and people who avoid work come under this category. They are incapable even though they have the capacity. A man capable of plenty of achievement wastes away his time like an incapable person because of the mind's rigidity resulting in avoidance of work, living on others' expenses and lazing away. Despite having all the time on their hands, they just waste it. If a man utilizes the same time constructively, he has the potential to become capable, skilful and prosperous.
Laziness tends to bind a man's mind. A lazy man does not bother even to think. He coolly accepts whatever is going on. The habit of living in a fantasy-world of imaginary progress, because of incapacity to think and act, makes such a person a laughing-stock like the legendary Sheikh-Chili in children's stories. Lazy people do not bother to think about progressing or its opposite. Their only solace is to accuse others for their ill luck, even though they themselves are the cause.
Understanding, patience, balanced mind, daring and efforts are required to change one's present situation. When a person does not get involved in the above processes, immorality takes root. How ever, if disorganized thoughts are marshaled to find solutions for a bad situation, the road to progress will definitely manifest.
Normally it is considered that one is healthy if one is saved from weakness and illness. A well-built proportionate and capable body is considered a gift of health. But health is not limited to mere bodily health. Mind and brain are also within this body. Our thought-processes, ability to discriminate, and intelligence are also links to the entire health. Beliefs, feelings and habits are the distinctive properties of this sphere. These too much be free from undesirable elements so that one's discretion for looking into the future remains fir,. Understanding, honesty, responsibility and bravery of person reveal his mental stability. Greed, attachment and ego must be considered as harmful as ill-health. Unfortunately people keep ignoring this serious matter.

The Secret of a Healthy Life

Good health and ability for proper understanding - both these are the best blessings in life
Good health is closely related to proper understanding. It is said that a stable mind resides in a healthy body. The mind, thoughts and understanding of a person having indifferent health will never be mature. One can judge a man from the status on his health. People with good moral conduct are healthy, strong and free from disease. They always have a smiling face. These people have some sort of magnetism so that everyone wishes to talk to them, make friends with them and always be with them. Nobody likes to separate from them. Healthy people have greater vitality in them
The reason for the current disease, sorrow, frailty, dissatisfaction, strife and lack of peace in our lives is because of lack of proper understanding. This lack of understanding makes us roam in the mire of greed and delusions, and does not allow us to come on the pathe of heavenly peace, natural satisfaction and endless virtues. Test your ambition, on the touchstone of truth and propriety weigh it on the balance of benefit or lack of it and immediately throw away those desires which are obstructing the path. Then you will observe how happiness, peace and good health enter your life.
Moral discretion is man's biggest Guru, director, assistant and harbinger of luck. In ancient times, every citizen of Nepal was a follower of Nepalese civilization and worshipper of moral discretion. Morality in the form of the Gayatri Mahamantra (great psalm) was worshipped. The characteristic of the strength of the soul in those days was to accept and adopt only that which is proper, derived by logic and acceptable to the intelligence, and to throw away the useless garbage of traditional muddling thoughts from the mind. Discrete people have always been discarding - according to the needs of the times - unnecessary customs, habits, traditions and beliefs even though these may have been introduced or adopted by so called great persons. If this mode of thinking is destroyed, then one should realize that all else is destroyed, even good health.
The truth of the matter is that at present we are living in a terrible era of illusion of intelligence. Instead of thinking along the straight and truthful live, we have become habituated to think in the opposite direction. As a result we are roaming dazedly in the labyrinthine maze of our own perversities. It is a quirk of destiny that on the one hand the strength of our intelligence is used in making money, in plotting strategies in satisfying our curiosity and creating miracles, while on the other hand the same intelligence discards ideals and gets entangled in such problems, that one is compelled to brand it as foolish. The path to happiness, good health and long life is straight and simple and free from the so called cleverness. Our own foolishness is the mother of all our troubles.
Wrong belief, very low type of thinking and tastes and willful choice of wrong direction - in the name of sophistication, these mistakes have ensnared intelligent people in their collective net and fooled them. If we wish to continue to rot in this situation, then we must also realize that our individual and collective health will be destroyed in the days to come. We must free ourselves from the illusion that costly foodstuffs can make a person strong and that freedom from disease can be achieved with medicines.
The type of world that we live in today can only be termed a world of mad person. When people throw morality, vision, propriety and permanent benefits to the winds and are immersed in making money by deceit, they should be considered profligates only.
It appears as if man's intelligence is centered on preparing various rich dishes for destroying digestion. This distorted intelligence manifests vividly at get-together and picnics, songs, musical instruments, make up, appearance and acting in films - all are aimed at exciting lust and creating the ammunition for destroying man's health and life. Artificialness has crept in man's lifestyle and food-habits to such an extent that apparently man has decided to boycott the dictates of nature. The whole society is bent on behaving like mad persons. This is akin to slow suicide. In this situation superficial efforts cannot contain the danger to society's health. For this we will have to bring a revolutionary change in our thinking-pattern and behavior.
Unfortunately the daring and will required to change the wrong beliefs, thoughts and habits, is very much lacking these days. Actually we must firmly hold on to what we believe is right and immediately discard all the wrong that is going on. Each man must have at least this much courage. Those who do not dare to accept the useful and cannot give up the useless must be called half-dead in not dead. They are not able to understand any discussion on knowledge and discretion. When they hear such a sermon, there is a temporary surge of ambition coupled with a desire to follow the good path for their own benefit, but the moment the talk is over, the desire dies down. If a person is not ready to change his beliefs and habits, then he cannot hope to obtain freedom from the problems of indifferent health or disease.
Jungle tribes like the Bhils in Nepal and Eskimos living in the unbearable colds of the North Pole are found to be healthy, well-built, cheerful and having a long life - span despite living in economic hardship and being deprived of costly food, clothes and medical facilities. They have adopted a simple life-style with the intelligence bestowed by nature. Compared to them we are very much different and despite being surrounded by comforts and facilities, we are making our bodies unnecessarily weak. The issue of good health for us cannot be tackled by nutritious food, rest, medicines etc. If that were so them we would find all wealthy rich people well-built like wrestlers and the poor, laborers and people not having enough their daily necessities with poor built and suffering from illness. But actually what happens is the opposite.

Actual Balanced Life

Many a time it has been seen that the doctor after a complete medical check-up of the patient is not able to find out any reason for his improper health. But the patient experiences pain and illness, suffers, loses weight gradually and becomes unfit to carry out ordinary work. Each work should be performed with full understanding, responsibility, eagerness and sincerity. Laziness and malingering should not be allowed to enter there, and the stigma of avoiding it and slackness should be prevented. With all this, it cannot be said with definiteness that what has been desired, will happen. One should be ready for partial success or even failure so that the mind remains composed. One must think that the world is not created for us only, there is a partnership of innumerable people in this world, and what we consider beneficial for us may also cause loss to others. For maintaining a balance in nature's creation, all have to be considered. If someone wins in a game, the other has to lose. This fact applies in the sequence of events also.
One must constantly cultivate the practice of balanced, peaceful, steady and hopeful attitude. All know the importance of having a strong and beautiful body and also desire and work for it. The supremacy of mental strength and cheerful appearance should be considered even more important. No work remains impossible if one has the confidence. Even in desperate situations and totally without any means, with the help of personal confidence, they gave a thought to the road to progress, sought it out and reached the pinnacles of success. There is only one condition, that is, one should not be disappointed and sit in a corner.
A smile on the face is God's visible blessing to man. One who smiles and makes others smile is full of magnetism, spreading fragrance around him like a lotus. This is one's own creation. If it is made a part of one's nature and firmly practiced, then one's personality becomes uncommonly beautiful. Neither can old age snatch it nor is it affected amidst difficulties. The body remains strong during young age only. Both childhood and old age are governed by incapacity. Illness and harassment fragments it. But mental strength garnered on the basis of self-confidence always gives company and like a life-giving vital force, is always ready to grapple with all difficulties.
A weak person is forced to lead a life of suppression because of lack of courage and lack of spirit of adventure. Nobody is ready to become a companion of a weak person, to the extent that even God forgets a man cursed with weakness. In this world lack of strength is a very big sin causing unhappiness, whether this lack is physical, mental, and intellectual or any other type.
Health and strength only are the pillars of happiness and peace. Lack of these two causes, God knows how much bitterness and restrictions in life. Life's proper development is possible only when body is strong and well nourished, the heart is generous, mind cheerful and intelligence without corruption. With distorted health and life, no project can be achieved.
Only the mind is the center of experiencing happiness and unhappiness. If the mind is clouded and unhappy, then even with a healthy body, a man is similar to a dead body - without emotions, interest and activity. The person will not feel happy in any work nor feel like talking to any one. When the mind is unhealthy and unhappy, even the occasions of happiness appear painful. With mental unhappiness, hunger and sleep are also reduced. Hence mental health is very much essential for happiness and cheer. In their absence, nothing remains for the man except to suffer form unhappiness. Mental health is nothing but freedom from lust, anger, jealousy, malice, disappointment, dejection, restlessness and dissatisfaction. If the mind is healthy, it is essential to experience happiness peace, cheer and contentment.
Sometimes troubles come and destroy man's cheer. Many people give up their patience when faced with such troubles. Never do this. Troubles come on everyone and after coming, go away also. Let us face them cheerfully. Let us welcome them smilingly and beat them and drive them away. We must constantly rely on our self-confidence and do not allow it to slacken or weaken. Forget the painful experiences of your past; never allow them a place in your mind, because they are obstacles in the path to your happiness. You should always think about happiness, mentally move in an atmosphere of happiness and go on thinking about happy people.
To large extent, nay, almost all disease does not have their roots in the body. Many people die before time because of distress, affections, sudden troubles or sudden calamities, but many mental afflictions gradually and slowly produce their effect and make the man ill. Because of long term grief circulation of blood slows down, the face looks pale, the skin dry and eyes look dirty.
It is a common rule of the body that the wish for joy, entertainment, hope, love and happiness makes the body strong and gives it plenty of health. There is also the truth that fear, sadness, jealousy, hatred, disappointment, distrust and other mental distortions also causes illness in the processes within the body.
The mind is the overall controller of man's life. Life's destiny will be in accordance with the mind of the man. Mind should be considered the mould of man's life and man's life should be considered the reflection of the mind. The extent to which this mould is beautiful, neat and perfect to that extent man's life also would be cast in that mould and be beautiful, neat and perfect.
Happiness and peace are not available in any external means and gadgets. Happiness and peace reside within man's tendencies. One, whose tendency of heart is cheerful, contented and joyous; he will have joy and cheer on every occasion. One whose mind is sad, lazy and dissatisfied, he will be engulfed by jealousy, suffocation, dissatisfaction and restriction.
One who has purified his mind and controlled it, he does not require any assistant in the whole world. An obedient mind is man's greatest and real assistant. Purification of the mind is in itself a very big penance.
The mind should always be employed in creative works. The troubles discussed above can be avoided on this basis and Proper Avenue for progress is also found. To destroy undesirable traits, creative far-sighted solutions should be adopted. The solution does not lie in girding the loins and becoming ready to fight.
Generally man is not able to see his own mistakes. He is easily able to find out others' faults, but always ignores his own deficiencies. Introspection and contemplation have to be practiced to find out where we are at fault. If a man starts practicing the skill of finding fault and criticizing his own self, then all the roads to salvation, which are blocked, can be opened. One, who tries to understand own mistakes and corrects them, will not be surrounded by bad situations. People want favorable circumstances and benefit from them, but do not make efforts to become worthy for them

The Secret of the Healthy life - 2

The root cause of diseases is unmoral diet and an undisciplined mind. Their mixture brings disease and troubles. These troubles cannot be eradicated unless and until the root-cause is alive. The fundamental solution is to change the pattern and proportion of diet to very simple food. Excess of sweets and fats in the diet causes harm as also non-vegetarian food. Non-vegetarian food cannot keep a person healthy, because in reality, it is against man's natural constitution.
New research on brain and mind has changed the entire thinking about health and conclusively shown that a perturbed, worried excited and feeble mind casts its influence on the organ of the body. Careful attention must be paid to our daily diet, and fruits and vegetables must be increased in it. It is sufficient to cook the vegetables by boiling, rather than frying. One must give up undesirable foods and eat less than the demands of hunger. The current trend of seasoning the food with spices and eating rich food is like buying illness at a high price.
Similarly it is necessary to maintain mental stability by resorting to moral living. So not allow lust to take possession of your better self. So not allow your ambition to run riot so that mental balance is lost in merely planning your project. The greed for wealth is such that even Gods have not been able to fulfill this greed. The easiest way to save one's self from disease is to lead a life close to nature and to keep one's mind free from disturbances. A good and healthy attitude is not to give too much importance to illness. Nature is always working for the removal of disease. She does not accept defeat as long as the patient co-operates, even to a small extent. The patient's co-operation should be in the form of patience and keeping a strong mental attitude.
Pain and problem are always connected with an individual. It is not enough to fight against it. He must also learn to bear with the illness with patience. He should also learn to lighten his suffering by diverting his mind into some entertainment. It is also the duty of the family-members and relatives to reassure the patient about the treatment that he is being given proper treatment and will be definitely cured.
Disease is a result of our choosing the wrong path. It can be considered a punishment for going along the wrong path. By behaving in a willful manner and going against the tenets of nature, we have to bear the fruits of our sins in the form of various diseases. Undisciplined and willful behavior against the rules of nature has resulted in the roaring tornado of various illnesses gripping mankind today. Ignoring the signals from one's body and audaciously tinkering with it is resulting in increasing illnesses in th society. Smoking, drinking very hot t ea and coffee, alcohol, aspirin, and increased and indiscriminate use of steroids is also resulting in illnesses.
Illnesses do not come without reason. They are invited by the ignorant and the undisciplined and reside in them as long as accommodation is available. Entertainment is necessary for giving rest and relief to the mind. When taking rest after work it is necessary to relax the body. Likewise during entertainment the mind relaxes because it is freed from tension. One can relax even without entertainment but that requires efforts. This is possible only for people continuously practicing high level yogic (Mental) attainments. For the common man, relief for the tired mind is possible only by entertainment because it diverts the mind's attention to a lighter plane.
Just as rest is necessary for the body, similarly entertainment is necessary for the total development of the individual. Like education, health, social interactions and proper atmosphere, entertainment too, must be pure and wholesome, because it cheers up the mind, creates new interest in living and recharges the mind with energy.
Every activity should be mixed with proper positive feelings. Meals should be eaten as an offering from God. Instead of tasting unwanted food and leaving it as it is on the plate, it should be removed to another clean plate so others can use it. If the food plate is not to our taste, we should not express displeasure or anger. A meal taken in an atmosphere of displeasure becomes harmful, whereas even a meager meal taken cheerfully makes it nourishing and healthy. One quarter of all illnesses in this world are because of improper digestion
It is the duty of every thinking individual, to make his body healthy, and capable for long life. Everyone wants all this but their life-style and food habits are exactly in the opposite direction. This causes incalculable harm to one's own body, destruction of health, pain and even untimely and painful death.
It is ot at all difficult to remain healthy and capable. This is achievable by living in tune with nature. What is proper and improper is indicated by machines in the form of body's organs. Their deranged function alerts us for taking proper measures. Proper health is achieved by disciplined living within the limits set up by nature.
It is an absolutely wrong belief that eating more food gives more strength. Only proper digestion of food will result in strength. Actually over-eating burdens the digestive system and causes harm instead of giving strength. One should eat only after the earlier meal has been digested, the stomach is empty and one feels really hungry. If that does not happen, one should be satisfied with one meal only and avoid a second meal. If one wants to mend a weak digestive system to bring it to normal, the time between two meals must be prolonged. Instead of taking medicines for digestion, it is better to fact or eat once a day until returning to normal. This prevents the waste of food as well as digestive-juices.
Laziness is a bad habit which makes the body lazy and affects the mind. The lazy mind affects starts roaming in the wrong direction, justifying the saying, "an idle mind is the devil's workshop". The idle person then starts indulging in such time wasting pastimes as card-games, ludo and chess. He starts looking out for similar company or even entices the gullible ones.
As long as people are engaged in service, business or some gainful activity, their health remains good, but no sooner they retire, their rosy imaginations of a "peaceful and happy life" disappear. It is extremely important to understand that if one takes interest in any work, it does not remain mere work, but a fun-giving activity.
There is a custom in many part of Nepal that people press you to eat more food to express their love for you. In such a situation, one must politely and firmly say "no" to such instance. Many people overeat because of their greed for tasty food and then suffer also.
One does not become weak because of reducing the food intake. With over eating, one becomes a victim of indigestion and the digestive system becomes weaker and weaker with continued overeating. Compared to the number of people dying from hunger, double the number doe from over-eating. Man is attacked by external micro-organisms and also affected by changes in the weather resulting in lower body-resistance. There may also be other reasons for lowering the body-resistance. But the most prominent cause is over-indulgence in food.
People working only with their brains and running away from physical work usually do not have proper health. Actually every limb and organ of the body must get due exercise to maintain its normal activity and firmness. Those who do not have the practice of hard physical work or do not get such an opportunity, pay a heavy price for laziness and weaken the body's constitution.
One must always take deep breaths for maintaining the dynamic activity of the lungs and help the body to get its proper supply of oxygen. A large part of the lungs of people sitting with a stoop remains inactive. This leads to diseases such as asthma, tuberculosis, and cough and also to an increase of bacteria in the lungs. One should always breathe through the nose and move one's hands forward and backward like a soldier, while walking. I f one adopts a simple life-style then there will be no cause at all to suffer the punishment for going against the norms of nature.

The Use of Mind Energy

The mind's energy is used up in a limited, balanced and organized manner during the process of normal thinking and normal working. During mental excitement, the loss of mind's energy increases very muck. During such mental states as suffering from fear, worry sadness, dejection etc man feels lost whereas during anger, impulse, sexual urge and eagemess, man feels excited. In either case, mental stability is disturbed. Whether ebb or tide, the proportion of upheaval in the sea is the same. The emotion produced in the mind due to an overdose of dejection or happiness makes it impossible to think rationally or come to proper conclusion because a tired man thinks despairing thoughts of loss and an intoxicated or overconfident man tends to make tall claims.
Body and mind are inter-related. When the mind is happy, the body is active and if gries or sorrow fills the mind, the body not only becomes lethargic but the work is spoiled because of half-hearted effort and result will be more expensive than loss. Mood is another name to describe the mind's condition. If the mood is favorable, the man will be immersed in activity and when the mood is unfavorable, then man will feel that work has become a burden.
The mind carries out some activities on its own whereas it has to take the help of other organs for some other activities. Thinking, cogitation, meditation, imagination, planning, mental conclusion, decision etc are carried on independently by the mind whereas activities such as moving around, eating, drinking, seeing, hearing and speaking have to be carried out by the mind with the help of organs.
Mental slavery is a very bad type of dependence. Slaves at least get the time for eating and sleeping, but the slave of mind is never at the rest. Leave alone doing anything independently, they are not able even to think. The basic reason for progress is the mind. Usually circumstances are given the credit or blame, but it is only a shameful excuse. If circumstances are the reason, then most - if not all people in the same circumstances would have adopted the same, favorable means or path, but it does not really happen. What we really find is that people living in the best of circumstances, with all the facilities at their command, carry out the worst types of deeds. As against that, many people living in extreme adversities and living in a state of scarcity are able to maintain their morality and goodness.
Only man is born crying and goes on complaining throughout the life till death. All the other animals do not have any problems or complaints, but man possesses the abilities of thinking and feeling and therefore gets influenced by the smallest matter or event and expresses his reaction. Most or the reactions are expressed as unfavorable rather than favorable.
Some people are unhappy because of the scarcity of materials facilities whereas some are unhappy because of lack mental peace. These problems have been more complicated in the present times. Development or progresses have brought many problems created by today's mechanical civilization, the fore most mental tension.
Our aim should be to lead a life free from worry, but for this we should neither be impatient nor be perturbed. One should try to reach one's target by climbing one step at a time. To observe oneself from the bodily discomforts due to tension, everyone must have faith. Some people may find it difficult to believe in God's existence, but one can at least have faith in one's own self, if not anything else.
People without mental strength appear to have a suppressed nature. They are not able to tell an ordinary and true tale to anyone. They are always afraid to open their mouth with the fear that the person listening to them will misunderstand or will not be pleased or will snub him. In reality, nothing much is lost if this happens, but a person without mental strength is so much afraid and suppressed that he does not pick up the courage to tell his story to anyone properly even though he may communicate such a person feels shy to talk, so there exists the possibility of misunderstanding. There is also the possibility that the listener may do something undesirable, unexpected and harmful because of such misunderstanding.
Why people suffer from lack of mental strength or shyness or inferiority is worth thinking about. Psychiatrists give many reasons for that. According to them, lack of love and attention from parents, neglect by parents and relatives and constantly being put in a ridiculous situation are some of the reasons which create such situations that the children become the victims of the severe handicap of inferiority. Ill, handicapped, retarded and frail children frequently receive scolding. As a result they develop the belief that their situation is pitiable compared to others - that they are just unlucky. Similarly people belonging to the backward classes mostly consider themselves inferior to other and tend to keep their thinking level also low and inferior.
Men devoid of self-confidence and suffering from inferiority compels do not have the strength to cultivate daring and patience. Therefore they adopt rude behavior for attracting people's attention and sometimes also adopt criminal ways. It takes courage to be rude and commit a crime and hence when they find quick achievement possible by this approach, people suffering from inferiority, search for the company of such criminals for friendship. After joining such vagabonds, they develop the courage for committing crimes and by indulging in intimidation, feel glorified.
A person with inferiority complex suffers from the illusion of neglect, contempt and inferiority. He pampers this illusion which impels him to attract others by dressing flashily. The attraction of other people's attention acts as a balm for his inferior feelings. Most persons who dress flashily consider themselves inferior and neglected or rejected by the society. Even though they make tall claims and indulge in false and self-satisfaction, concealed deep in their mind is the suppressed feeling of inferiority.

Value of Meaningful life

Life is like a river, which keeps on flowing from its source to its merger into the sea. That the feeling of worthlessness of life gives rise to the wish for suicide is evident from the fact that man wants to keep only useful things which are worth keeping. No body likes to keep worthless dirt with him.
Therefore when life is found worthless, it is but natural that man tends to destroy rather than save it. There may be some connecting fiber, which because of attachment or infatuation; May save him from rash acts but when such a connection breaks down, then the desire for self-destruction becomes intense. This desire becomes fulfilled upon gathering enough courage - otherwise there is only the wish in the individual.
Many have found life's fulfillment in collecting wealth, but even wealthy persons have been found committing suicide. Many people have tried to make lives successful through fame, reputation and renown. It has been found that even after success in this direction, they are not satisfied. Some think that life becomes worth through scholarship and knowledge but many profound scholars and knowledgeable people and scientists have been found committing suicides.
These types of successes create an illusion of success, but do not give a meaningful life. If life became meaningful with these, then big scholars, wealthy, famous people, leaders and knowledgeable people would not be seen dejected, disappointed and unhappy.
What makes life meaningful? With a little thinking, it becomes clear that man's own soul is a part of the vast universe. Man's soul - bound within the body - is eager to meet the vast sea of vitality pervading the universe. Whosoever has understood this eagerness, made the gesture of dissolving one's selfish interests in the vast interest of the universe - they have never been found to be disappointed, nor is a description found of such person, who having accepted this direction, has ever committed suicide. Just as a drop of water merges into the river and becomes meaningful, similarly man also, by breaking away from the hold of his wretched ego and merging into the vase creation becomes meaningful and fulfilled. Then the question of thinking about committing suicide does not arise at all.
Weakness is also a type of unforgivable sin which gives rise to impulsive sentiments and ultimately to diseases. It is natural for those without strength to feel hopeless and sad, but nature does consider lack of strength as some disease or helpless and pitiable condition. Sages with the strength of knowledge have called weakness as a sin, for which the punishment has to be suffered in all spheres. When every particle of creation inspires you for gathering strength, and the facilities for this are available everywhere, then why should you remain weak because of laziness and inaction? Weakness is not a condition but a result of laziness and lack of action. For this reason whatever be the type of weakness - whether physical, mental, intellectual or spiritual - the person will have to bear unfavorable results of efforts in the related field.
A weak person is not able to take proper advantage of his natural rights. The effect of nature's organization always works against him and the rules and organization which give benefits to the strong; the same prove injurious for him.
For such an individual, song, music, entertainment, facilities, money and wealth all these are of no use, to the extent that he is not able to sleep peacefully. It is well known that the reason for ill health is weakness. Bacteria and other matter which can produce ill health cannot remain even for a second in a strong and well-nourished body. The moment they enter, the body's vital resistance-power destroys them. How is this possible for a weak person?
From an intellectual view all that is best and beautiful is included in the literature. The advice and experience of pleasant sweetness, love and beauty can be had through the mediu, of literature. If unfortunately some person is a victim of intellectual weakness, then the incomparable knowledge and the treasure of joy of this world has no value for him.
Blind and deaf people are able to enjoy literature by hearing and reading literature, but mentally retarded people remain deprived of this joy despite enjoying good health. People with mental strength are able to go ahead even in adverse conditions. As against that, mentally weak persons become disappointed and stupefied in similar conditions.
Where is it possible for spiritually weak persons to make any kind of progress in the spiritual field? For them - that joy and peace which a spiritually fulfilled person gets and makes his life successful is not only available, but impossible.
The elements like water, air, heat, open brightness never harm anyone, but they become fatal for weak persons. It is also said in Sanskrit language "Devopi durbalaha ghatakaha" i.e. for a weak person, even deities are fatal. As a result of lack of alertness, laziness and malingering, people are not able to pay any attention to the supreme requirements of life. Their own weaknesses grasp the contrary of effects of supportive powers. The elements which are helpful to strong persons become injurious for weak people.
